Gunny does not look very happy, does he?
He's a live in the moment kind of guy, and in this moment, he's trying to teleport to his happy place.
What he doesn't know, is that very soon he's going to go live on a farm. His hips have really been bothering him, I'm sure it has nothing to do with the horse jumping course Zoe has been running him through, and he's starting to show signs of age.
When he gets up out of bed he drags his hiney up, slowly getting to his feet. So the time has come to send him to the farm.
What you should know though, is that we're going with him. We finally got our rears in gear and got this place ready to sell and . . .
Ta Da!
In two week's time we'll be unpacking in an old farm house. We'll have almost ten acres for the Bunnery Sergeant to run from the girls whilst he avoids bathing.
And likely we'll be getting horses very soon for our horsey girls. Zoe has been trolling the rescue horse sites already.
As I'm sure you can imagine we have been crazy busy around here.
And because I like to do everything the hard way, I decided to finally take care of an old rotator cuff injury and have shoulder surgery riiiiight before we move. So smart.
So this is what I've been doing while everyone else frantically packs around me. Lucinda Gooseberry has been slacking right along with me.
In order to keep the stress and exhaustion of moving day less stressful and exhausting, we've been packing and hauling as much as we can to a storage unit. We have enough room left for one more column of boxes, and we probably won't need it because we just have the kitchen left to pack.
When I say "we" I mean the passive we. Mostly I just stand and point while occasionally giving helpful advice.
Peanut Head and the girls have endured my bossiness well.
In other news, Zoe Bug is pretty happy that she was accepted on the Junior Zoo Crew for the summer. She told me I'm no longer allowed to exclaim "Wow, it's a zoo here!" when I pick her up. She just sucks the fun out of everything.
I can't wait to start sharing pictures of the new place and all of our plans for it. Stinkerbell and I are just itching to get the kitchen set up and start unpacking. To satisfy our craving, we've been binge watching episodes of "Fixer Upper," and honestly, it's making us even more restless.
I still have four weeks left in this blasted sling though, so I'm about as useful as a one-armed T-Rex. It's torture.
So I know this is a short and sweet post, but I wanted to get on here and share our exciting news. It's going to be a great summer!
Congrats on the new home! We just moved to a new home 2 weeks ago so if I may say so, SMART thinking on getting surgery before the move! You may have made it worse if you didn't and I envy you not having to lift a box! I hate moving and when we bought this house, I made sure it can accommodate me when I get old and feeble as I am NEVER moving again!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Cindi! Are you unpacked yet? I too hate moving, but I love settling into a new place and decorating. It's my favorite part.

ReplyDeleteCongratulations and best of luck to you all in your new adventure. Look forward to hearing about it!
ReplyDeleteI got worried that going to the farm was a euphemism for, you know. Whew. The new place sounds great and I can't wait to read about it.
ReplyDeleteThat was sort of my intent, Suzanne. I like to mess with people because I'm inherently naughty. :)
