I am so excited to find out that I won the September Procrastination Challenge over at Virtually Organized. I completely forgot that it was a contest so it was such a nice surprise to find out that I won. Since I don't have time to read all my favorite blogs every day, I didn't know that I won until a couple people commented on my blog and asked me if I knew that I had won it. How cool is that? Thank you HDMac and C: aka astoria708 for cluing me in.
Even before I won, I was planning on doing the October Procrastination Challenge because, hey, it'll help me cross something off my list that I keep procrastinating about.
And do I have a whopper this month. It's this book, Procrastination by Jane B. Burka, Ph.D. and Lenora M. Yuen, Ph.D. I've had this book since at least 1986. That's 22 years! Obviously I bought it because I thought I had a procrastination problem fresh out of high school.
I've joked about this book for years. "I have a book that will tell me how to stop procrastinating, if I could just get around to reading it." Ha, ha, ha!
Well I think it's funny.
So, drum roll please. For the October Procrastination Challenge, I AM GOING TO READ THIS BOOK.
I'm not looking forward to reading it, but I am looking forward to getting rid of it once and for all. It's like a black cloud hanging over my head. Taunting me.
I leave you with one more picture. This is the book opened to the page where I left a bookmark. I got all the way to page 29.
Then it sat on my bookshelf for 22 years, the pages yellowing and becoming brittle. Rotting.
I'm sorry, I just think this is hilarious.
Which is why I need to read this book and stop tormenting my friends with this tired, tired little joke.
So, stay posted for my "I Did It" post. I'm going to start reading this book right away. Tomorrow. No, next week. No, better make it after the 18th because that's Croptoberfest. Then I'm going to crack it open for sure.
Oh, the insanity.
By the way, for those of you that I promised a Magnetic Board tutorial by the end of September, um . . . oops. I'm going to get right on that. I promise. Tomorrow. Really. Pinky swear. Honest.
You're too much! I love your challenge for the month!! Good luck and let us know what tips and good info you pick up from the book.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great thing to mark off your list! Congrats on winning last months challenge!
ReplyDeleteHA! HA! HA! HA!... I am laughing so hard right now. I have that EXACT same book and have also been putting off reading it for years. Maybe I will take your challenge too and we can compare notes after we are done. I really think that is SO funny. I am going to go find my book right now!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm reading your blog from end to beginning and I just saw this... did you ever finish the book?! I have to know!
