I'm sure you can imagine that I was thrilled to see it made into a movie, but can you believe that I waited until today to go and see it? I don't want to compare it to the play, but I'd just like to say a few things about the movie.
First of all, I loved it. It was every bit as thrilling as I expected. It was also just as funny every time another ABBA song popped up, even though I knew it was coming.
I remember when I saw the play I kept guessing what the next ABBA song would be and how they were going to work it in. I wonder, for those of you out there seeing the movie for the first time, without having seen the play previously, did you have this same experience?
JOHN TRAVOLTA! Wouldn't he be perfect? We know he can sing. He can dance. He's the right age. He's dang cute. And although he has played some creepy, scary roles (Broken Arrow, Pulp Fiction), he's Vinnie Barbarino, man.
Or, how about Woody Harrelson? I don't know if he can sing or not, but how bad could he be? Surely we can believe he used to be a hippie, can't we? He's an activist to legalize marijuana for crying out loud. I don't see Pierce as a hippy. He's too . . . . not relaxed.
I feel bad about dissing Pierce, but he just doesn't fit. Am I crazy? Please vote for one of them on my right hand tool bar.
HaHaHa... alternatives to the actors in the movie. haha. your funny! i hope to go see the movie sometime soon.

I loved the movie too and was also a little disturbed with OO7. I thought Meryl Streep was awesome. Isn't she pretty old? She could do amazing things. Love the school shopping. My kids complain every year because I love the back to school aisle. I am so excited to check out the new folders etc. I hardly let them have a choice because I want to pick them out. It's terrible.
ReplyDeleteI loved the movie as well, but thought Pierce's singing was a little strange. It just didn't seem to fit. You're right, it was difficult to get over OO7 singing. I loved Meryl and all of the music. I hadn't ever seen it before, but I wasn't disappointed. I'd even like to see it again.
